Μy mother used to say “this kid danced first, then walked”. Tango met me unexpectedly 14 years ago. The best part of dancing Tango is the interaction between the couple on the dance floor and the way we communicate during the tanda. This interaction is what I am looking for while DJ-ing, but in this case the interaction is created between me and all the dancers. I try to capture moments, signs, expressions of the dancers, or even if it’s possible, feel the energy on the dance floor so I can harmonize it with the next tanda. I have plenty of songs to share that deserve to be heard, and wait to be danced, and I am always curious to see how they could be interpreted through the art of dance.
My preference is songs from the Golden Age. Favorite orchestras: Biagi, Donato, Troilo, Pugliese, D’Arienzo. People have described my music as Seducing, Intense, Rythmic, Flowing, Impossible to sit!

While being a part of the tango community the last 6 years, I have traveled a lot in many events around the world, and I have realized that the Dj is the person who makes the party start and I always wanted to be the “mood maker”.

There is no bigger satisfaction than when you select a tanda and you are observing the dancers getting up from their chairs looking forward to dance to your music… My aim is to keep everyone on the dance floor in a happy mood from the beginning of the milonga till the end, and try to fulfill the musical desires of everyone.

Favorite selections: D’Arienzo and Lomuto

Favorite Song this period: Sonata-Agustin Magaldi/O.T.V.

Evguenia Roubtsova, originally from Moscow Russia, with current residence in Ankara, Turkey!
Evguenia started DJing few years ago, but this short time was sufficient for her to receive high acclaim in the tango community. Her spirit and love for tango are contagious. She enjoys seeing how the energy on the dance floor builds up as the intensity of her music increases. While DJ-ing, you will often see Evguenia singing along with her favorite orquestas. Evguenia’s music is certain to keep you on the floor all night!

I started DJ-ing in 2010 and since then I had the pleasure to be part and participate in multiple international tango festivals and marathons. What I love in DJ-ing is to share my deep passion and love for tango music with the dancers and most of all see all these happily exhausted faces in the end of the milonga. I believe that the DJ is a storyteller taking the audience through a unique story with his/her music selection. I love my stories with lots of different flavors, garnished with passion and deep emotions!
